Privacy policy
Last updated 3 November 2026
The short version. Your videos never come to us: they stay on your Mac and, if you connect it, in your own Google Drive. PlumCam has no accounts, so we don’t hold your name, email or password. The only things that reach us are messages you choose to send. No advertising, no tracking.
Who we are
PlumCam is run by Ivan Kriuchkov, an individual entrepreneur (FOP) registered in Ukraine, Sumska St. 80, apt. 8, Kharkiv 61002, Ukraine (Unified State Register record no. 24800000000102500). We are the “controller” of the personal data described here. You can reach us through the contact form or at info@plumcam.com.
Your videos
PlumCam records on your Mac and saves recordings in a folder on your Mac. They are never uploaded to PlumCam’s servers, and we can’t see them.
If you connect Google Drive, the app uploads videos straight from your Mac to your own Drive. It uses Google’s most limited access, which only lets PlumCam see the files it created itself, nothing else in your Drive. The permission Google gives PlumCam for Drive stays on your Mac, encrypted with your Mac’s Keychain; it never reaches our servers.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Feedback you send from the app (Report a problem / Suggest a feature): your message, your email if you add one, and the technical details if you leave them on (app and macOS version, your plan, recent log lines, with your Mac’s user name removed) | To fix problems, improve PlumCam and answer you. Our legitimate interest in supporting the app. | As long as needed to help you, then deleted [e.g. within 2 years] |
| Messages you send through the contact form on plumcam.com, with your name and email | To answer you. Legitimate interest. | Same as above |
| Security records: your IP address, counted for a short time when you send a form, and a scrambled fingerprint of a message to spot it being sent twice | To stop spam and abuse. Legitimate interest. | Counters reset within a day and are deleted daily |
| Technical logs of requests to our website (time, address requested, errors) | To keep the service running and fix problems. Legitimate interest. | A few days |
Your plan (Basic, or Pro and its free month) is worked out on your Mac from your App Store receipt; it isn’t sent to us. We don’t sell your data, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t build profiles of you.
Payments
Pro is bought through the Mac App Store. Apple takes the payment and handles your payment details under Apple’s privacy policy; we never see them, and Apple doesn’t tell us who you are.
Cookies
plumcam.com doesn’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Our forms (on the website, and the quick check before the app sends feedback) use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots; it may set its own security cookie.
Who helps us run PlumCam
- Cloudflare hosts the website and our database, sends our emails, and provides bot protection.
- Apple provides the Mac App Store and takes payments for Pro, as described above.
- Google, only if you connect Google Drive: your videos go to your own Drive.
Some of these companies are in the United States. Where your data leaves the European Economic Area, it’s protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, take a copy, object to how we use it, or have it removed. Since there are no accounts, the only data we may have is feedback or messages you sent: ask through the contact form and we’ll find and delete them.
To remove everything PlumCam keeps on your Mac, delete the app; your videos stay in your Movies folder until you delete them. To stop Pro, cancel it in your App Store subscriptions.
If you think we’ve handled your data wrongly, please tell us first. You can also complain to your data protection authority, or to ours: the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (ombudsman.gov.ua).
Children
PlumCam isn’t meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or on plumcam.com before it takes effect.
