Terms of service
Last updated 3 November 2026
The short version. PlumCam is a Mac app for recording your screen and yourself, available on the Mac App Store. Basic is free. Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription bought through Apple, and its first month is free. You cancel and ask for refunds through Apple. Your videos are yours: they stay on your Mac and in your own Google Drive, and you’re responsible for what you record. This summary doesn’t replace the terms below.
1. Who you’re agreeing with
These terms are a contract between you and Ivan Kriuchkov, an individual entrepreneur (FOP) registered in Ukraine, Sumska St. 80, apt. 8, Kharkiv 61002, Ukraine (Unified State Register record no. 24800000000102500) (“PlumCam”, “we”, “us”). They cover the PlumCam app for Mac and the plumcam.com website (together, “PlumCam”). By downloading or using PlumCam, you agree to them. If you use PlumCam for a company or other organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you’re allowed to.
You get PlumCam from Apple’s Mac App Store, so Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”) also applies. Where these terms and the Apple EULA differ, these terms apply as far as the Apple EULA allows. Apple isn’t responsible for PlumCam or its support; we are. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data and is part of these terms.
2. No account needed
PlumCam doesn’t have accounts. Your plan comes from your Apple ID: the subscription (and its free month) belongs to the Apple ID that started it, and work on the Macs signed in with it. You must be at least 16 to use PlumCam.
3. Using PlumCam
While you follow these terms, you may install and use the PlumCam app on Macs you own or control, under the plan you have. You may not:
- copy, resell, rent out or redistribute PlumCam;
- take the app apart, reverse-engineer it, or try to get around plan limits or other protections, except where the law allows this despite these terms;
- overload, attack or probe our website or servers, or send automated messages through our forms;
- use PlumCam to break the law or other people’s rights, as described in section 6.
4. Plans, the free month and payment
PlumCam Basic is free, with the limits shown in the app and on our pricing section (for example 5-minute videos at 1080p, with a small PlumCam logo on them). PlumCam Pro is a subscription, monthly or yearly, with longer, sharper videos and the editing features.
The first month of Pro is free, once per Apple ID. It’s the start of the subscription: unless you cancel it in your App Store subscriptions at least 24 hours before the free month ends, it continues as the paid subscription you chose, monthly or yearly, and Apple charges you. If you cancel, you’re back on Basic when the free month ends.
Pro is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT and sends your receipts; Apple’s terms apply to the payment itself. The subscription renews automatically every month or every year, depending on the plan, until you cancel it in your App Store subscriptions (in PlumCam: Settings › Plan › Manage subscription), at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can switch between monthly and yearly there too. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Prices are shown in the app and in the App Store before you buy. If we change the price, Apple tells you before it applies, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
5. Refunds
Try Pro free for a month first, so you know whether it’s for you. Payments are taken by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple too: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have trouble, write to us through the contact form and we’ll help. If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, all this is in addition to your legal rights.
6. Your videos and your responsibilities
Everything you record belongs to you. PlumCam saves it on your Mac and, if you connect it, in your own Google Drive. We never receive your videos and claim no rights to them. Keep your own backups: if your Mac or your Drive loses a file, we can’t recover it.
You’re responsible for what you record and share. Only record people who know they’re being recorded where the law requires it, respect copyright and other people’s rights, and don’t use PlumCam to record or share anything illegal, abusive, or meant to harass or deceive.
7. Other services
Some parts of PlumCam work with services run by other companies: Apple (the App Store and payments), Google (Google Drive) and Cloudflare (our website). Your use of those services is also covered by their own terms. We’re not responsible for them, and if one of them changes or stops, the matching PlumCam feature may change or stop too.
8. New and “coming soon” features
We improve PlumCam over time and may add, change or remove features. Features we describe as “coming soon” or “on the way” aren’t promised by any date. Some new features may be marked as previews: they may change or have rough edges. If a future feature (for example captions or dubbing) needs to send your audio to a specialised AI provider, we’ll say so clearly and you choose whether to use it.
9. If something important changes
If we remove something important that’s part of Pro while you’re subscribed, you can cancel, and we’ll help you get the unused part of your current period back from Apple.
10. Ownership of PlumCam
PlumCam itself (the app, the website, our name and logo) belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you the right to use it as described; they don’t give you ownership. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
11. Our promises, and their limits
We work hard to make PlumCam reliable and useful, but it’s provided “as is” and “as available”: we can’t promise it will never have bugs, never be unavailable, or suit every purpose. Where the law lets us, we exclude all other guarantees. This doesn’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.
12. Liability
As far as the law allows, we’re not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, lost profits, or lost or damaged data (including videos), and our total liability to you for everything related to PlumCam is limited to what you paid for PlumCam in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else that can’t legally be limited.
13. Your responsibility to us
If you use PlumCam in a way that breaks these terms or the law, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you’ll cover the reasonable costs that causes us. This doesn’t apply to consumers where the law doesn’t allow it.
14. Ending
- You can stop at any time: cancel Pro in your App Store subscriptions and delete the app.
- We may stop offering PlumCam with 30 days’ notice in the app or on plumcam.com.
- We may stop you using PlumCam if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other people or PlumCam.
- Whatever happens, your videos stay on your Mac and in your Drive. Sections 6, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 16 keep applying.
15. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or on plumcam.com at least 30 days before. If you keep using PlumCam after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, stop using PlumCam and cancel Pro before then.
16. Everything else
- Law and courts: these terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, and its courts can hear disputes. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the laws, and the right to go to the courts, of the country where you live.
- Problems first: if something goes wrong, please contact us first; most things can be sorted out quickly.
- Events outside our control: we’re not responsible for failures caused by things we can’t reasonably control, such as outages at our providers, natural disasters or war.
- we may transfer these terms to a company that takes over PlumCam; we’ll tell you if that happens, and it won’t reduce your rights.
- Exports: don’t use PlumCam where, or in a way that, sanctions or export laws forbid.
- The whole agreement: these terms (with the privacy policy) are the whole agreement about PlumCam. If a part turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something straight away, we can still do it later.
- Notices: we’ll tell you in the app or on plumcam.com. You can reach us through the contact form or at info@plumcam.com.
